Budget overage

I have been working to get some transparency in out Village finances. The emails below show my inquiries into money that is unaccounted for.   I recently got a reply, but not all questions were answered, and the answers that I got are completely different from what the Village Administrator told the Board. Also, the new explanations still leave thousands of dollars unaccounted for. The ongoing vagueness and inconsistencies in this area raises red flags for me.       Granted, the current treasurer after almost 4 months is still sorting out the mess left by the previous treasurer, but we need a better accounting of taxpayer money than what we are getting. The Village Board is supposed to review the entire financial report once a month, but our financial situation has basically gone black since September of 2021, with no information at all coming forth until very recently, and the report that finally came out is still not accurate.      Th...

The Investigation Part 1 - Something Wicked this way Comes

Image
The Investigation Part 1 The key takeaway information in this report is: The current $40,000 "third-party investigation" had no legitimate purpose. There was no "complaint" other than an unseen, fictionalized one conjured up by President Joling. Joling initiated the process of an investigation without informing the Village Board. To the extent that there might need to be a resolution of some kind, Joling ignored the policy procedures directed in the Employee Handbook. Dan Joling directed the course of the investigation as it took place ; providing documents and questions for each interviewee, he also was a witness and a defacto "person of interest" being responsible for a gross waste of taxpayer money. He certainly had a personal stake in the outcome of the investigation. The closed session meetings from February to June were in violation of the Wisconsin Open meetings law. The pre-meditated, pre-determined out...

The Kronenwetter "Organization" - Money for Nothing

Loyalty Has Its Rewards In late March trustee candidate Kelly Coyle was all over social media doing his thing with pre-election lies about myself and Trustee Sorensen in relation to a confidential investigation report (which he was not even supposed to have access to).    He was once again beating the perennial dead horse of "Charneski's to blame". This time it was all about the very costly "investigation" that as trustee I spoke and voted against . Then Coyle made similar absurd accusations against Trustee Sorensen. Trustee Jessica Stowell joined Coyle in proclaiming how the coming investigation report would show everyone this "evil conspiracy to attack President Joling" or some such similar incredible BS. I think it is obvious that Coyle and Stowell were simply engaging in dirty politics for election purposes, while trying to misdirect public attention away from those truly responsible for this (currently) approximately $40,000 "investi...

My Report to the Village Board on the Milestone sand pit appeal

A report by Ken Charneski Relating to Junior Ridge Conditional Use Application Introduction     After a hearing and deliberation on Oct 20th, 2025, the Kronenwetter Plan Commission (KPC)  unanimously voted to deny Milestone Materials' conditional use application. This decision was based on the failure of the application and other documents and evidence on the record to meet 4 out of the 5 criteria for approval. All 5 criteria must be met before approval is allowed,     Milestone Materials has appealed that decision to the Village Board as per 520-121 (j). The letter stated no specific claims or reason for the appeal.      Basic Rules of Appeal        Consideration of a conditional use application  is a quasi-judicial function of the KPC, and thus also of the Village Board in considering this appeal.     "Quasi judicial" means that our obligation is every bit as solemn as it would be for ju...
